Building Aged Care facilities for Malaysia

Malaysia has been in transition to aging nation and as such the infrastructure has been struggling to catch up. A lack of transitory regulations has lead to a lot of homes being unlicensed and having to run their centres under the radar

As seen in developed nations, aged care has placed a heavy burden on governments and society with the rapid increase in lifespan over the last 50 years.

Building an aged care facility therefore not only has to be within regulations but also cost effective both in capital cost as well running cost.

The thing about General Practice clinics

Malaysian General Practice clinics have been the forefront of healthcare and the first bastion against sickness.

Till today they remain affordable and generally are your jack of all trade doctors. Despite being squeezed by middle parties on corporate prices they maintain their oath to deliver your diagnosis diligently.

Their pricing remains much cheaper than hospitals outpatient clinic and though they are not emergency centers , they always do their best to stabilize a patient if they are a first point of contact.

What’s in a country?

A cumulative string of culture, policies and events is what forms a country. The unbridled version tells you that healthcare forms its backbone. Without healthy individuals a country is no good , short term and long term. Malaysia takes after our colonial masters forming a health system similar to the NHS whereby healthcare is a right. As such Malaysian healthcare is articled as one of the best and most cost effective. However changing times has put a strain on this. With an increased lifespan , burgeoning aged care and a proportional increase in cormorbidities , the system has felt the strain. In this constant transition , the overview of a multi factorial ingress of bureaucratic systems needs to be looked at. Whether it’s the insurance regulatory schemes , the infrastructure of facilities to cater not just to acute care but to chronic care or the mindset to keep the economy in view, we need to get a move on to maintain Malaysia up the healthcare ladder. And it’s not a bed of roses.
